2020 Vitality London 10,000 postponed
25 Mar 2020, 9:55 a.m.
The following information was sent to 2020 Vitality London 10,000 runners on Wednesday 25 March 2020:
As the world grapples with the global pandemic of COVID-19, public health and having the resources to support our medical services are everyone’s priorities.
This means it will not be possible to stage the Vitality London 10,000 on bank holiday Monday 25 May, so we are postponing the event until the autumn.
We are currently working with our partners to find an alternative date so please bear with us. We’ll send regular email updates to runners who have already signed up for the event and share news on social media to keep you informed. Please add this email address to your contacts/address book to ensure you receive these updates.
Rest assured that everyone who had a confirmed entry in the 2020 Vitality London 10,000 on Monday 25 May will automatically be transferred to run in the rescheduled event in the autumn. If you are unable to run on the rescheduled date, you will be able to apply for a full refund of the entry fee you paid or opt to donate your entry fee to The London Marathon Charitable Trust or rollover your place to the 2021 event at no extra cost.
If you have a charity place in the 2020 Vitality London 10,000, but can’t take part on the rescheduled date once it is announced, you must speak directly with the charity to discuss your options as the place belongs to them. If you have a place from a sponsor and you paid the entry fee, then your options are the same as for a general entry runner – you will be able to apply for a full refund of the entry fee you paid or opt to donate your entry fee to The London Marathon Charitable Trust or rollover your place to the 2021 event at no extra cost. If the sponsor paid for the entry, then you must speak directly to the sponsor to determine your options.
There is no action that you need to take now. We’ll be in touch with more details by the end of April.
Thank you for your understanding and please look after yourself over the coming weeks.
